ASES INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF CULTURE, ART AND LITERATURE (ASES JCAL) is a non-profit, peer-reviewed, internationally indexed academic journal that publishes articles in all disciplines of culture, art, and literature. The publication stages of ASES JCAL are based on the impartial production, development, and dissemination of knowledge through peer-reviewed articles that ensure the application of scientific methods and objectivity. Accordingly, a double-blind peer review system is implemented in the journal. All stakeholders—publisher (or the institution authorized by protocol), editors, authors, reviewers, and readers—are expected to adhere to publication ethics and policies.
If fabricated or falsified data is detected in research, this situation will be officially reported to the author’s institution, and the study will be rejected. Editorial board members and/or reviewers reserve the right to request the raw data used in the article from the author(s).
Members of the ASES JCAL Editorial Board are appointed based on their expertise in various disciplines of culture, art, and literature. The board is chaired by an editor-in-chief and supported by two field editors. The editor-in-chief may send articles to other experts who are not board members, depending on the topic of the research.
ASES JCAL works to ensure that the published content meets publication ethics standards. To achieve this goal, it adheres to the guidelines and recommendations provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
The ASES JCAL Editorial Board is responsible for all peer review processes of submitted manuscripts and is obligated to decide independently which of these articles will be published, considering their importance for the scientific community and public interest.
The relationship between the publisher and the editorial board is based on an independence policy, and all decisions by the editors are made independently of the publisher and other individuals or institutions.
The editorial board aims to enhance the scientific quality of the journal.
It determines and implements journal policies (publication, peer review, evaluation processes, ethical principles, etc.).
The board keeps a record of each article either electronically or in print.
Editors should:
Respond to the requests of authors and readers, provide feedback on issues requiring corrections or explanations, and maintain transparency.
Ensure the originality of manuscripts and their contribution to the literature, readers, researchers, and practitioners.
Implement policies for blind review and evaluation processes, maintain the confidentiality of reviewers’ identities, and ensure impartial and timely evaluation of each manuscript.
Protect personal data in reviewed manuscripts and safeguard the personal data of authors, reviewers, and readers.
Pay attention to the protection of human and animal rights in articles, document the explicit consent of contributors, and ensure ethics committee approval is obtained when necessary.
Take precautions against misconduct and conduct objective investigations when necessary, sharing their findings transparently.
Protect the intellectual property rights of published articles and defend the rights of the journal and authors in cases of infringement.
Take necessary measures to ensure that published content does not violate the intellectual property rights of other publications.
Reviewers should:
Only agree to review manuscripts within their expertise.
Evaluate manuscripts impartially and confidentially, without allowing nationality, gender, religious or political beliefs, or commercial concerns to affect their judgment.
Inform editors if they recognize any conflict of interest or collaboration and decline the review if necessary. If they suspect any similarity with published or unpublished research, they should notify the editors.
Evaluate manuscripts constructively and avoid derogatory or hostile personal comments. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate.
Consider the "Author Guidelines", "Initial Submission Template", and "Manuscript Template" as criteria when evaluating submissions and revisions.
Authors should:
Ensure that any manuscript submitted to ASES JCAL is original and has not been previously published in the same or a similar form. If any essential part has been previously published, this should be disclosed to the editor.
Confirm that the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere.
Guarantee that their work does not infringe any existing copyright by submitting to ASES JCAL.
Provide raw data, research permission, and approvals to the editorial team upon request.
Present evidence of ethical data collection processes in the manuscript (such as permissions for scales, surveys, observations, interviews, personal photographs). Manuscripts should state compliance with research and publication ethics and copyright regulations for intellectual and artistic works. For studies involving human and/or animal subjects, compliance with local and international guidelines must be stated.
Properly cite other works used. Authors must include a plagiarism report (similarity report) with the submission. The total quotation rate from multiple sources should not exceed 20%, and no more than 2% per individual work.
Notify the editor-in-chief of any errors identified post-submission and cooperate in the correction or retraction process.
Implement revisions requested by reviewers within one year. Manuscripts not revised within this period will be returned to authors and will not be considered for resubmission.
If any unethical situation violating the Publication Ethics and Policies of ASES JCAL is identified during the evaluation process or in an early view or published article, it should be reported to the editor.
